The Battle of Rendili Empty The Battle of Rendili

    Post  LegendaryExGamer May 14th 2013, 16:56

    Galactic News Flash:

    The Battle of Rendili

The scene pans erratically to a holo feed overlooking the battle in space with hundreds of flashes of light and detonations occurring in the atmosphere and on the surface of Rendili itself.

"This is reporter Jenna Theil of New Republic News. As you can see behind me, the battle rages on and has been going on for days now. A force calling itself the DRFC, or the Droid Rights Freedom Coalition, has laid siege to the the entire system."

Several near miss bursts of weapons fire appear to nearly strike the Holo pickup and the broadcast vessel. Just off Holo cam, yet not out of vocal pickup "You ass, I thought you said you were a good pilot... Where the hell did you learn to fly?" there is a pause and a response "I learned to fly while I was banging your mom, at least SHE was grateful"

The Cam resumes "The force of Trade federation Droids here does not represent anything that was fielded either at the Battle of Endor or in current service with the New Republic. In fact, the New Republic... I hate to admit ... Has the issue of aid to Rendili tied up in bureaucratic..." the pilot chimes in, overpowering her statement "BULLSHIT!!!!"

She resumes "Eh, well, they are gridlocked in a political debate. However, there are some representatives of the New Republic here currently. Garm Bel Iblis defied orders, and resigned his commission in the New Republic to lead a rag tag fleet of older vessels here to aid in Rendili's defense. Furthermore, Rogue Squadron also resigned commission and is currently deployed here in Z-95's which they picked up second hand. We had heard a rumor that Rogue Squadron busted at least a squadron of Imperial Aces out of prison that were left to die at Lianna and took them with them.

Furthermore, the first responders on the scene were elements of THe Empire. A pair of as yet unidentified Star Destroyers and a pair of what appear to be refit Alderaanian War Frigates. The Admiral of those forces did not identify himself, but had been coordinating the defence with Rendili until Garm Bel Iblis showed up and joined forces with them immediately. The Millenium Falcon was here briefly, however, it left after about a day of fighting and we are uncertain as to why.

On an even more embarrassing note a pair of Vindicator Cruisers showed up here from the Pentastar Alignment, who is under siege from the New Republic.

Finally, adding insult to injury Admiral Zinj sent in support in the form of his personal Star Destroyer, the Iron Fist.

All three splinter groups of the Empire are engaged and under fire from the New Republic, they are smaller and less well equipped ... Yet they all sent aid to a world that needs it so very badly. It is days like these that I wonder, where is the New Republic?" There is a comment right before the news feed ends, from the pilot, "They're all up Borsk's Ass, you dumb bit..."

    The communication ends

Once we have a little bit of intel from our advanced force at Rendilli. We will take Naval and ground forces. I will lead the fleet personally. Well... coordinate it with a naval officeer overseeing tactics.

I would think a few Star Destroyers should cover it... Imps and Vics.

Rogue squadron grabbed up a few of Clearwater's fighter pilots... damn.

You get preliminary reports from the Battle of Rendili:

The size of the force that is attacking has forced everyone to fall back to Rendili itself, the world and the yards facility. The rest of their system has been semi- evacuated, either leaving the system altogether or having taken refuge on Rendili (Prime) itself.

Millions are already estimated having been killed. The Golan Defense platforms have all fallen save for those immediately adjacent to the main Planet itself. The Entirety of the Yards facility is under fire and it is now being utilized as "cover" for the defenders.

Early estimates speak of 30% of Rendili's Yards facilities have been utterly decimated.

Ground forces on the main world are holding, not repelling, the invaders.

With the Arrival of Garm Bel Iblis, nothing else managed to make it to the planet. Thus he is holding the Golan III's that are defending the world. The unnamed Imperial Admiral is fighting a "running battle" through the shipyards in an attempt to draw forces away from hitting the planet (and its working, but its destroying the yards facility).

Iblis has: 2 Slave Rigged Drednaughts, 2 Nebulon-B Frigates, 1 Corellian Battleship, 2 Corellian Cruisers, a mixture of 12 Corellian Corvette types, 2 Bulk Cruisers, 1 MC80b, 2 MC40's, and a small flotilla of armed freighter types, mercenaries, privateers, and old spec ops forces that he threw together. Even one of Corwin's Units is there fighting (Corwin is absent).

You know the Rear Admiral, he's the guy you saved from KDY. (I just don't have his name in front of me) His force consists of: the 2 response Victories, 2 Grant Frigates, 1 refit Victory II (Zinj), 2 Vindicator Cruisers (Pentastar), 13 slave rigged dreadnoughts, 3 Rendili Battleships, 9 Victory I refits and something called a "Republic-class" Star Destroyer, of which there are 3 (brand new right out of the assembly lines).

THEY ARE LOOSING - Outnumbered 3 or more to 1.

Thrawn will not allow you to pull anything critical to the systems you are holding (No Star Destroyers of any kind) As he has moved the bulk of them to systems with Yards Facilities as a precaution, actually moving the Mandator III you just took to hold Fondor. More assets moved into the Shapani Shipyards facility and other star destroyers to hold Eriadu. Heavier assets have moved into the Sisar Run area as well, due to Ghtroc Industries and in light of what recently transpired out there.

The rest of the assets are moved to Modell Sector. He's fielding shit, but he will accompany you and anything your wife can manage to put together.
-However, Booster Terrick will not be accompanying her as his Imperial II is an actual Shadow Port and a bit too valuable to risk now. He will hang back a couple minutes out and provide support and refits for the smugglers and pirates.

    Post  Xeen May 15th 2013, 19:15

Are the fleet assets our Admiral has counting what Rendilli had in defense? Lookes like some of their home defense ships.

With those odds, we will bring what we can... maybe 6 acclimators, 2 full of troops, and 4 empty to evacuate as many people as possible... maybe any evacuation ships that we can get our hands on quickly.

    Then retreat.

The Battle of Rendili Empty Rendili

    Post  LegendaryExGamer May 16th 2013, 15:00

The Admiral's assets include whatever is left of Rendili's home defense fleet. You can expect that that number will diminish, daily (for both the Admiral and Bel Iblis).

As for the Acclamator class ships, none of them have been refit yet. They are all in kinda bad shape and were relegated to second string refits after the Victory I and II refits were already done. Any Imperial I or II refits will be performed after the Acclamator refits are completed. Thrawn took a pair of, stock, Acclamator I and IIs with whatever he could cram into them.

There are already evacuations going on at Rendili. With much of it having been performed during the initial week of fighting prior to the mid defence perimeter being breached (the first tier of planets and stations, then the second tier in the mid region falling back to Rendili). When the enemy hit the inner defense perimeter, those evacuees left for wherever they were granted safe harbor. Which, incidentally, is Imperial Space due to Tarkin dispatching the response fleet (Class 1/2 Hyperdrives).

The Main system is being evacuated, but the process is slow and there is currently no cover for evacuating ships. Not to mention, there is massively insufficient capacity for evacuation of the main planet.

    Estimates rolling in are:

Civilian casualties to Outer and Mid regions of the Rendili system are over 80%

Military Losses in those two regions are 100%

    Current Military estimates are roughly:
    10% Rendili defense fleet remaining
    25% Defensive Structures remaining operational
20% Civilian Losses on Main world

The planet and the Yards facilities are currently surrounded, being shelled and these numbers will diminish daily as well.

The above does not include the force that Iblis or the Imperial Admiral or Pentastar brought, however, only Iblis managed a singular significant force which is why the planet is currently being protected from additional space incursion and getting aid in the ground battle from all the assembled forces (Pentastar, Imperial & Ex-New Republic).

It will take time to gather your wife's fleet, as she is not on the same side of the galaxy right now.

Thrawn's fleet will take a while in getting there.

You have some time to do some other things, while your wife gets in position. She would need to leave for the battle, without you, immediately to have any chance of getting there in time.

You have one luxury that very few people have right now, 3 really damn fast ships. (The Drake, the Morningstar and the Arno) You can pull one more, from Chris's fleet, your wife's Marauder if you want to... to get one more fast ship.

The Battle of Rendili Empty Endgame 05/25/2013

    Post  LegendaryExGamer May 17th 2013, 12:57

The battle will end up looking like this as the players join for the next game:

Adjusted Losses: 10 Corellian Corvette Types, Both Neublon-B’s, 1 MC40
Iblis has as of the 05/25/13 Game (start): 2 Slave Rigged Drednaughts, 1 Corellian Battleship, 2 Corellian Cruisers, a mixture of 2 Corellian Corvette types, 2 Bulk Cruisers, 1 MC80b, 1 MC40, and a small flotilla of armed freighter types, mercenaries, privateers, and old spec ops forces that he threw together.
Iblis’s casualties are simply a result of screening the world against invasion and supporting the Golan III platforms.
The Planet’s Golan III towers are down to 2, heavily damaged ones.
Iblis has succeeded in destroying thousands of droid fighters, and about a hundred capital ships

Adjusted losses: 13 Slave Rigged Dreadnaughts, 7 Victory I refits, 1 Rendili Battleship, 1 Vindicator Cruiser, 2 Republic-class Star Destroyers, 1 response Victory
Imperial Forces as of the 05/25/13 Game (start): (10) the 1 response Victories, 2 Grant Frigates, 1 refit Victory II (Zinj), 1 Vindicator Cruisers (Pentastar), 2 Rendili Battleships, 2 Victory I refits and something called a "Republic-class" Star Destroyer
The Imperial Admiral Sacrificed the Dreadnaughts as they had the least crew, could be easily evacuated and could also be used to ram ships via slave rigged commands.
The Yards facility is utterly destroyed and the Imperial forces have fallen back to the planet to coordinate the evacuation of the rest of the population.
The imperials have been successful in destroying a couple thousand droid fighters, and about 200 capital ships at the expense of having rigged the yards, and warships under construction to ram/booby trap and detonate around the invading fleet.

The Droid fleet is massing its remaining forces for, one, final push.
New developments: The arrival of a MASSIVE, 12 Kilometer Diameter Droid Super Battleship (looks identical to a Droid Battleship, just HUGE).
Remaining forces rallying around the warship: Roughly 30 Droid Battleships, 20 Light Droid Cruisers, 10 Destroyers
Can you hold the world? Should you evacuate it? What do you think?
Thrawn’s fleet will arrive roughly in tandem with whatever the Pirate Queen (Sara) musters to the fight. Arno can have 3-4 ships join at the last minute, what I want to know is what else he can mobilize in the days prior to his ultrafast ships jumping directly to the fight.
Skar can also organize forces, I really need to know his ideas on what he might be able to muster for the fight.

What else can we bring? No clue atm. Not anything that will arrive on time. We could bring several ships... All will arrive late. I will think about it a bit. If we have the Bulk cruiser with the Ion cannon... even if that arrives late, it would be good to bring to hit the massive ship. World Devestator... now that would be worth while.

The Battle of Rendili Empty Re: The Battle of Rendili

    Post  LegendaryExGamer May 20th 2013, 11:11

You can have anything you want show up, assuming its "junk" you guys found.

You could have Chris's Venator show up, because its got a Class 1 hyperdrive.

The Bulk Cruiser does not have the Ion Cannon on it yet. The Ion cannon is on Lanthrym . But it can show up in time with your wife.

The Carrack of Doom can show up, it's commander is back at the helm due to restructuring and the fact that he told Lady Tarkin "You can kiss my ass if you think I'm only taking 4 ships to Rendili" Thus he lost the Response Cruiser command. (class 1/2 HD)

All of your personal ships are Class 1/2 or better. The Drake, the Morningstar (old masters ship) and the Arno.

If you got the world devastator immediately, it could make it. It doesn't currently possess a class 1 hyperdrive.

You could have a small fleet of Ghtroc 720 Type II's show up (about 36), they're all modified and configured more like small gunboats.

If Skar ever gets back to us, he could rally a really decent number of pilots with hyperdrive capable fighters and get there (about 144 or so).

Honestly, you have the fleet assets list. Look at it. Anything non-star destroyer (save for Chris's Venator) or non-deployed could show up. So something like a Trade Federation battleship perhaps? Maybe a Providence Heavy Cruiser (which I believe you have).

You guys have a ton of shit, any non-standard Imperial ship you have could make it (non star destroyer, no more dreadnoughts, or Bayonets, or whatever)

Not to mention, omg... it is a roleplaying game, ask someone for help...

There are also at least 4 Lancer Frigates that can show up (forgot about those). 2 Are the normal ones, 2 are refits with Anti Capital ship Turbolasers on them and upgraded Starfighter guns. So... That's even 4 more ships that can come.

If you want to "win", you need a near endless stream of ships.
    1. You have to, at the very least, match their current assets... Ship to ship. If you manage to exceed their assets there, it gets easier for you (but not by much).
    2. The enemy Super: Droid Battleship has some unsettling qualities (possible super weapons). So, with that in mind, you will need even more ships.
    3. It's simply impossible for you to match the sheer quantity of starfighters they have left. So, find as many as you can because if you don't have anything to screen with you will all die.

BTW The Admiral's old command (or at least whatever he had left at KDY) is still available : 12 Carrack Cruisers.

    Post  Xeen May 21st 2013, 19:49

Well, we have the Carracks, the 40 ish dreadnaughts (not sure what you ment above), lots of other support ships like lancers and corvettes. We can bring it all. If Thrawn thinks its wise (which he is right) I wont argue with it. All Star Destroyers stay in defensive positions... BUT everything else goes. Everything. Cram fighters into every ship with space. The fighters will be used to screen only. If we dont have enough then there is no option.

I think we should win, and chase off the New Republic when they show up. If they show up. Completely... give them a choice, "leave or fight, your decision to make."

Once complete, convince Rendilli to rebuild in our space. Up to them there really, but the space debris is ours LOL.

The Eclipse will be moved ...again... Just outside Rendilli, and the World Devestator will have a massive debris field to suck up and get that Eclipse done.

Oh and... Kuat... Im going there after this fight concludes.

The Battle of Rendili Empty Re: The Battle of Rendili

    Post  Xeen May 22nd 2013, 05:25

So, Mikey... Create me a couple programs if you would.

Droid program and Computer program combined, sort of like a virus.

What I want it to do... We load up this program in either a droid or the maintenance station for droids. If loaded into a droid, it will compel the droid to load it up into a maintenance station so the maintenance station will pass it on to other droids. This program will also be loaded into the main computers of a ship.

The gist of the program is to steal ships. Once a signal is set out... For the ship computer side, it will lock out all systems completely. An astromech droid will load up cooridnates pre determined and launch the ship into hyperspace. Once the ship drops from hyperspace at the destination, the computer will shut down all power.

If someone damages the hyperdrive... the backup will kickin and continue the course. If the computer code is broken, and unauthorized access is granted... All power on the ship will drop except for the hyperdrive. Also, if someone is able to power the systems, the computer will scramble, making all systems except the hyperdrive useless.

Basically at KDY... We will use the Commandos and myself (and anyone else that wants to join in) to infiltrate ships in production, ships in defensive use, and ships that are hyperdrive capable but not complete and implant the virus. Once we are satisfied that its ready to launch, we give the signal and make sure the deed is done. At the coordinates setup, we will have a boarding force and fleet waiting to take everything over.

I figure we will get maximum effect, but it wont be easy... Mikey has to make a great program, then we have to make sure it gets onto every ship.

The Battle of Rendili Empty KDY

    Post  LegendaryExGamer May 22nd 2013, 10:24

Great idea for KDY, are you sure you want to steal more of their ships... Again?

Do you even need to steal them? Or are you planning on using them at Rendili?

They will figure it out, and it won't take long.

Yes, you can steal their ships and you can get a LOT of them and it will be easy as pie. Honestly, it will be so damn easy I will just give the ships to you almost instantly.

I will change the game when you do though, just as an fyi.

Mikey already made the virus, and it will work.

The question you have to ask yourself is: "Who is KDY making star destroyers for?"

They are making everything for the New Republic, at least thats what you told me.

If they are still making Imperial ships that are going to someone else, thats news to me.

As for stealing ships from them... I dont see a problem with it. It just screws over them and the New Republic (or the Emperor if they are still building for him.) Besides, they have sent a massive fleet out to hunt me down, and put a bounty on my head. (and they will be hit by a droid army too)

If your just going to make it easy, then maybe I shouldnt do it... Dont try to whisper sweat nothings in my ear while trying to bend me over lol.

And yeah, thats a good idea, force them to Rendilli in the middle of the battle... force them to fight there.

I said they aligned with the New Republic because of your actions, for protection. very similar to what Lianna did because of Clearwater showing up.

You can steal whatever you want, from whomever you want to. As usual, there are consequences for instant gratification.

Yes, it's going to be damn easy with a cloaking device and a "God Engineer" in your personal employ.

I didn't say anything about who they are doing business with.

I am not telling you to NOT do anything, I welcome anything you want to pursue. I will however send out an occasional word of caution. This is not the same as in Eric Wojo's games where it just became a "no", it is simply me telling you that I will do something in response and it might be something you will easily wipe out or it might be something that could kill you and everyone around you. The bigger the heist, the bigger the risk.

Anyway, Im calling on EVERYONE in the galaxy for help at Rendilli. I dont expect the majority to show up to help. But my goal will be to show up with the Death Star and put some fear in our enemies, and get some new allies that will join us.

I would figure and like you said Justin, Hapans and Pennistar will join up, and may be even Zinj. Some minor warlords will join up too.

The New Republic will hate us more, which is fine. Let them grind their people against us. If they want to send infiltrators against the Death Star, great, live fire type training for our Imperial Knights and Commandos.

The Battle of Rendili Empty Zinj

    Post  LegendaryExGamer May 24th 2013, 23:02

Warlord Zinj isn't the fat pompous douche is becomes 15 years later. With the event shift of the Galaxy he's a bit different. He actually sent forces to Rendili when he really shouldn't be sparing anything to help out. SO that is indication number 1. Number 2 is that Grant never bought the design from him, Zinj gave it to him for the TIE Allegiance. And Zinj is fielding the same fighter (the first shipments went to him, though they are the non refit version that Skar designed). He's been cutting Alliance Starfighters apart with them!

He also stole a Super from KDY so KDY hates him. He is also building another Super without their permission and its almost done. Other than that, his sector of space only has an Imperial II, the Victory II he sent to Rendili and the Super holding off the New Republic. So, he's a bit better in the Tactical department too.

He has shit for assets, but he's used the nothing he has to work miracles. Raptor Troopers, Incom Y-4 Transports (Raptor Transports) that he now builds locally because Incom was vaporized for some reason... eh ... He wouldn't be a bad gain, because the New Republic is poised to hate you anyway with the Big D showing up at Rendili!

Yes, Pentastar will join. They will benefit a lot from the joining, the TIE Alliegance and some refits for their Vindicator Cruisers would make them more viable. They have a really decent sector fleet and a super and a really great Moff their people love.

Hapes will come over if you approach them, that's an Empress Tarkin kind of thing because she would have to marry Isolder. If that happens she also becomes Ta'Chume of the Hapes Consortium.

The Corporate Sector will send 12 Refit Victory I's and its more than just a gesture of good faith, they will approach your empire for a business alliance including an Arms update for their woefully undergunned ships, since Shapani Shipyards is already refitting Victory I's. THey are Rich, and that means more money for your empire.

Minor warlords that are likely to get smoked will align with you almost Immediately after seeing the Big D.

Koornacht Cluster... This is Yevethan Space, if the Empire is going to fight the New Republic, it's a resource rich area that you might as well go and take back from the Yevethans before they loose it. They were doing well initially, however, they have been taking losses and their sector in now breached. The Prototype D is still operational, namely because they slapped capital shield generators all over the thing and welded on armor plating (basically shit but better than nothing). Pentastar can help in its occupation.

    Those are the real freebies.

The Talon Syndicate will send you one ship as a sign of goodwill for a feee pass from getting arrested and being able to do whatever they want to in your territory, including setting up shop "legitimately" by killing everyone who is Black Sun & Hutt in your areas and taking their holdings by force. They send in a Relentless Heavy Carrier - Basically a 3600 Meter long Star Destroyer that is doubled top and bottom (Imps the Relentless) Basically, its the rough equivalent of 10 Imperial Star Destroyers in mass. It is considered a light Super (dreadnought). The ship will likely leave after the battle is over.

The New Republic will Show up with a fleet of their Brand Spanking new ships. One of each + some Star Destroyers + Some kind of Bothan Cruiser (The Bothan Ship is the New Republic's answer for a ship with the capabilities of a combination of a Victory I and II). Basically, temporarily pulling everything off Zinj and Pentastar in the process. One MASSIVE fleet, the Big D showing up will be interesting to say the least. Not to mention the 3600 meter Star Destroyer they've never seen before.

Hapes will show up with a handful of Battle Dragons and Nova Cruisers (Frigates), the best thing they have are modern starfighters that no longer have parts to maintain (Incom... oops).

It should be interesting. Assuming McHugh shows up, he will come in with a couple Escort Carriers (4) to span wings of TIE Fighters at the enemy.

The Hutt cartel will actually send Hutt Dreadnought, It basically looks like a 3KM Sail barge... or rather sopmething like an Ironclad of old, with guns trundling out of gunports on port and starboard sides (like 300 per side)....eh
And a mix of Light, Medium and Heavy Huttese Fighters.

    That's about it.

    Cool

Penistar alignment, perfect... we will help them with Yvethan space, upgrading their ships and fighters.

Zinj, hey, he will be a perfect ally. In fact I think Penistar space and his are next to each other. I know warlord Screed (Zinj takes him out later) is inbetween them. [I always like Screed from the Rebellion game] If they work together it will be a great gain to each other. Kain has numbers and is a Grand Moff, and Zinj is a tactician with supers... add in Kains, and they would have 3.

Hapes is good as well, but that will be left to Emperess Tarkin. I will try to get her to come along to Rendilli so she can show her face to everyone and do negotiations.

Corporate Sector!!!! nice. Tarkin can work miracles with them if she would like. Again that will be up to her.

Talon Syndicate. LOL Grant can set up shop in our space. Of Course. He needs to kick everyone else out, and use his connections to kill Rebels in our space and he has it.

The Hutts, wow. Not sure how we can work them in. General Trade sounds good.

Again though, Tarkin will need to handle most of this. Thats why she is in the position. I can be present after the battle at Rendilli and help her out. After that she needs to keep the alliances, Or find someone who can, a Moff maybe.

Did the Sullustans end up making it?

Were the Mon Calamari waiting outside system waiting to hear that they can take Clearwater?

The Mon Calamari did show up and were represented in Garm Bel Iblis's fleet. The Mon Cals as a whole don't hold everybody accountable for Clearwater's actions. That was just one dude that died in the battle. They probably will let it slide as a tragic incident in a galactic war. But relations with them are strained, yet you have them now. You find out that the Mon Calamari were thanked for their contribution to the galactic civil war and then "excused". Looks like they tentatively threw in with Garm Bel Iblis and are now, as fate would have it, a tentative ally because of Iblis.

The sullustans did make it, they cam in with the New Republic Fleet. Thought there were so many ships it was hard to pick out the 12 they sent in.

That is different lol. I didnt expect the New Republic to dismiss the Mon Cal. That is kinda stupid on their part.

I will tell Tarkin to absolutely open up relations with them and Bel Iblis.

If the Sullustans were with the New Republic then F them. If they came separate then I was thinking of opening up relations with them. Oh well, the will just have to be conquered then.

I always had it in the back of my mind that, at this point, you would start unifying Imperial fragments into the Empire once again. This is really the core of the game right here. Because in season 2 when the Emperor comes back, he will find no allies. He will fight EVERYONE and he will ultimately fail. Because he waited 15 damn years to try to come back and have another go at it.

Systems are falling into step, quickly. The same has been happening with the New Republic, too though. They are not the pussy/wussy shouldn't have ever won / taken back any territory kind of government. The political system may be fucked up, but their powerbase is beginning to rival the Old Republic times for influence and power. They are, in some ways, a throwback to an earlier time. Their government will streamline over time. It's just going to take a number of years and political wrangling. Not so much even that, it will simply take Luke the amount of time it takes him to make the Jedi the governing power in those areas of space. ie protect the weak and defenseless. The Jedi Order on their side of the galaxy will become MASSIVE.

Thus, my super evil (yet not evil) bad guys that harvest all life. They're the real balancing act for the galaxy, the Jedi and all that jazz. When they hit the galaxy en-masse, I expect that certain areas will hold their territories (like yours). And in certain battles, you will push back and the enemy will fall before you. You will have massive losses, yet you might start winning depending upon what your empire has at the time.

With the addition of Penistar and Zinj, we need to put a call out to all imperials to join up. Im sure most of the small time warlords with nothing for resources will consider. Regardless, we need to get them in and if they have no territory worth anything, send them over to the Penistar side of things. That will help make sure they are defended well.

We can handle things on our side rather well. New ships up and running, new fighters in full swing, a tactical genius.
